INSURANCE & Cancelation Policies

Out-Of-Network Provider

I bill clients directly via their credit/debit/HSA cards through Square (HIPPA compliant). I also accept cash payments. 


If you wish to work with your out-of-network benefit, before your first session you should contact your insurance provider and ask if you have out-of-network coverage for mental health services. You will pay me directly for your session, then I will present you with a SuperBill once payment has been rendered. I create SuperBills once a month, typically at the beginning of the month. You present this SuperBill to your insurance and then they reimburse you at the out-of-network rate.


Additionally, I am now accepting the following insurance plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield TX, Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield Massachusetts (Texas), Quest Behavioral Health, and Carelon Behavioral Health. Please see the link below to my Headway account which is how insurance clients access booking.


I will SOON be accepting: Oscar (Optum), United Healthcare (Optum), and Oxford (Optum). Booking your appointment using your insurance is super easy and is done via my Headway platform (see link just below this section).

Please be advised that working through your insurance requires a diagnosis, which means you or your child will be diagnosed with a mental disorder which goes on your, or your child's permanent healthcare record.

Most insurances will not reimburse or cover Marital Therapy or Pre-Marital Therapy. 


If you wish to pay private pay and would like a SuperBill to get reimbursed, you will need to send me an email requesting this and include the following in your request:

  • Client's full name
  • Client's date of birth
  • Insured's Full Name
  • Insured's Employer
  • Insurance Company
  • Insurance Group #
  • Insurance Policy #

Cancelations

I try very hard to work with my clients when an unforeseen emergency arises and prevents you from attending your scheduled counseling session. Please notify me immediately should you require the cancellation of your appointment.

Please know that failing to notify me at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment time (or failing to show for your appointment) will result in you being billed your full session fee. 


The reason for this is that I do not get paid a salary, but instead rely on my session fees, which are regularly scheduled and regularly relied upon to pay my bills and living expenses. If you do not give me AT LEAST 24 hours advance notice, I am unable to try to schedule another client in your available spot.


Please understand this is not meant to be punitive, it is strictly a matter of being self-employed and relying upon my session fees as my regular income.
